November is the month of Gratitude! Each day I wanted to share one thing that I am thankful for along with one thing that our students are grateful for! Day 2: I'm thankful for Michelle Price. Today she bought me food to make roast since I have been eating meatballs all week. Day 3: Student Spotlight - Jeremiah is thankful for baseball, the Kansas City Royals and his family! Day 3: To counter, I am grateful for students who bring in game balls from my favorite team the Chicago Cubs! Hello!
Today we did an activity of pulling items out of a bag that were supporting details of a main idea. In my bag I had measuring cups, spatula, an egg, and a bowl. These were supporting details to my main idea of being: Cooking. I have challenged the students to come up with their own main idea, and then come up with supporting details for their main idea. I have attached some other examples of what you can do. You don’t have to do any of these, but they might give some inspiration. You can use a brown paper bag, a plastic Wal-Mart bag, or a Ziploc baggie. It’s up to you! Everyone is going to be able to share their bags of supporting details later this week. As these bags come in, I will let the students share their bags, and then we will try to determine the main idea. You have until Wednesday, October 25th to turn these in. I can’t wait to see all of the creativity behind these bags!!! Have fun, Ms. Kurtz |
